Care Assistant for a 31 year old disabled man in DH1 area 15 hpw £12.00 per hour

Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: a8860ba4

I am a 31 year old disabled man with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and a full-time wheelchair user living in the Carrville area of Durham.

I am in the process of looking for an additional Support Worker/Personal Assistant to add to my existing team. The work is for 15 hours per week. I live independently and require help with my personal care, dressing, some light physio work and household work and administering of medication. I use a feeding peg daily and also use a ventilator.

I am friendly and easy going with a wide range of interests which include sport, cinema, watching TV, history, cookery, visiting new places and going for coffees. I also enjoy regular poker nights at the casino or with friends at home. I take part in the sport of Boccia which is a form of bowls for people with a disability and I run my own club in Durham City. I am very interested in watching all sports so a person with similar sporting likes would be an advantage. I have my own wheelchair-adapted vehicle so you would need a full clean driving license.

If you are interested please message me for further details and to arrange a visit to discuss the role including the rate of pay, training and the paperwork requirements through the local authority. Full training will be given for the post as stated above. It is important to me to enjoy the right person with similar interests as myself.

Successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, paid for by the employer, prior to commencing work.
