One happy competent reliable carer required to join our team of 5 carers, caring for a young man with quadriplegic cerebral palsy in Canterbury/Folkestone area. Non verbal client has a talking aid and it doesn't take long to get to understand him. Client is friendly and enjoys eye gaze games on his computer and outings to the local zoo, bowling, cinema, shopping and cafes. Non smoker preferred due to client's medical condition.PA/Carer must be over 25 and have a clean driver's licence to be able to drive automatic Motability vehicle. Please note we live in a rural location so a car is essential to get to work.Experience useful, but not essential as full training and shadow shifts will be provided.Current shifts available are two Saturdays in the month at £16 per hour from 9.30am to 9pm.
Three Tuesdays in the month - picking client up from day centre and driving him home, and looking after him - 3pm to 10pm at £15 per hour. Sleep night at £80 per night. Morning shift 6.30am to 10am at £15 per hour.Duties include getting client washed and dressed. Preparing his breakfast and feeding him, having good interaction playing games with client on PC device, taking him out in his own automatic Motability vehicle . Preparing and feeding him simple cooked food mashed up, personal care, PEG and catheter care, manual handling using ceiling track hoist, hydrotherapy sessions with client, washing and some ironing, keeping rooms clean and tidy, getting client ready for bed.Own carer's room with free Wi-Fi, tv, en suite facilities, own kitchen area. Good rates of pay, holiday pay and pension provided.
