I am looking for a compassionate personal assistant to support my son Hugo with his daily activities. Hugo is a happy and energetic boy with autism and ADHD. While his language is limited, he understands everything being said to him and can express his needs. Hugo enjoys staying active and requires a lot of attention. He sometimes experiences anxiety and exhibits obsessive behaviours. This role involves assisting with daily life activities, providing personal care, and fostering an environment that promotes independence.



Location: PE 30



Job Description:

Staying with Hugo at home

Taking trips to the park

Food preparation

Escorting him to various activities

Providing personal care

Help and support in and around the house.

Any other reasonable duties as requested.



Person specification



Essential:

A patient and understanding individual who enjoys being active and moving around.

The ideal candidate would require calming, reassuring, caring and patience.

The person I employ, must have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work, including total respect for my privacy.





Desirable:

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the individual's needs.

Experience working with children with ASD and ADHD is desirable, or a willingness to learn about neurodiversity.

A full UK driving license holder with appropriate business insurance cover is preferable but not necessary.





Summary terms and conditions

The rate of pay for this position is £11.68 per hour.

Hours and times of work: 2 hours per week. Time discussed further at interview.

Weekday afternoons or early evenings

Occasional Saturdays (to be agreed upon)

The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

Free Care Skills training is provided to employed staff.







The post is subject to the following:

A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.

Satisfactory references from two referees, one of whom must be your current or last employer.

Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
