57 year old Male with MS. He has a very outgoing personality with an interest in music, quizzes and general comedy. Enjoys walks, audio-books ( or someone reading to him ) and loves animals. We have a small,friendly, hypoallergenic dog and a cat.
He uses both an electric and manual wheelchair but needs assistance with getting around. He will need full assistance with all personal care needs. He also has a peg in situ through which all medications and nutrients are delivered. All transfers are by hoist, so hoist experience would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
Although he has severe physical difficulties, he is fully mentally competent and understands clearly everything that is said to him but is non verbal therefore clear, good communication and patience is essential for stimulation.
