Job Purpose:
I am a friendly lady with various health needs who is seeking a personal assistant to support me to live independently in my home.

The main duties of this role will include the following: general household cleaning, helping me to organise and declutter in preparation for house move, running a bath, cooking light meals, food shopping or unpacking deliveries, occasional assistance with paperwork/bills, keeping on top of basic household supplies, assisting me with dog walks and basic help with both pets, occasional errands and reminding me to get out regularly for shopping and going out for coffee to keep my social skills going.

Due to health issues associated with my diabetes, it is essential I go outside for walks and light exercise. As such, someone who can encourage and remind me and schedule this regularly, as well as accompany me would be ideal. It is also essential that I use nutrition effectively to help manage my diabetes, as such someone who can cook me fish and low fat meals is essential.

Someone who is open to leaning new skills and has excellent time management abilities is essential.

Due to my low immune system, it is essential that PPE be worn should you have a cold/illness.

This can be a physically active role, as such, someone who is physically fit is preferred. The property has stairs .

Summary terms and conditions:
  • The rate of pay for this position is £13 per hour
  • You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role
  • Hours and times of work: 4 hours per week, with the potential of more. The exact day(s) to be discussed at interview. Between the hours of 2 and 6pm.
  • Free Care Skills training for all employed staff
  • If this job requires any of the following: Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals (e.g. household cleaning products), Food handling. You will be required to undertake annual training.

The post is subject to the following:
  • A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
  • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
  • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.
