We are looking to recruit a support worker to provide 1:1 enabling support for the young man both within his own home and in the local community, accessing age-appropriate activities.

The child has a diagnosis of ASD,ADHD, learning disabilities, OCD and dyspraxia. He is a happy, pleasant young man with sound verbal communication skills and can manage his own personal care.

He has a keen interest in transport, including buses and trains and enjoys being out on these. Due to his sensory issues around hearing he prefers to access quieter activities in the community, such as SEN soft play sessions. Somebody willing to access these activities and support the child's interests would be preferred.

There will be no medication to be administered within this role.
Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour

Hours Breakdown:
4 hours per week during term time – evenings /weekends
8 hours per week during all school holidays – more flexibility required

Person Specification
The successful applicant must:

· Have experience and a positive understanding of children with disabilities· Have a genuine interest in working with young people with complex needs· Be able to respond patiently, positively and sensitively to any changes in behaviour· Have a high degree of initiative· Be punctual and reliable as the young person cannot be left unsupervised· Be flexible· Have a happy, positive and caring nature· Respect confidentiality

A car driver is essential and must be insured for business use. Mileage will be paid in agreement with the employer.
A full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate will be required, and full cost will be met by the employer
