Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 5effe33c
Job Purpose
I am looking for trustworthy, reliable, personable, patient and resilient Personal Assistant with SEN experience to provide part-time childcare/respite care for my lovely 5-year-old-boy who is in Reception.
Preferred work schedule (although I am open to discussion and to the possibility of recruiting a couple of people to do different parts of the role)
- 3 hours most weekends (NOTE - The law states unless you are a registered childminder, you can only care for a child aged under 8 for a maximum of 2 hours outside of their home.)
- If possible, one-pick up from school at 3:15, taking him to the playground near our house and potentially doing bath time (once F is familiar and comfortable with you) while I prepare dinner
- School holidays - time negotiable
- I am also looking for someone as an alternative to (or support for) my elderly parents to care for my son when I have to go away overnight on business.
- Possible babysitting until 7.30-10.15pm every now and then.
Description of Child:
My son is age 5 in Reception. He is a lovely, enthusiastic, energetic, helpful, inquisitive, observant, playful and giggly little boy. He is very boisterous, mischievous and can be defiant and become dysregulated, with ASD, ADHD, sensory processing disorder and attachment disorder. He has repetitive behaviours which are amplified when stressed/over excited, can be impulsive and does not always heed safety instructions so needs extremely close supervision. Due to early life experiences he has experienced developmental trauma and gets upset when I am away, and is very sensitive to change, so I will need to introduce new people to him gradually.
He has had 5 febrile seizures (latest one this March) and when unsettled he has toilet accidents. He is on Melatonin to help him get to sleep. No other physical health problems.
Reporting to: Mum
Location: Eaton, Norwich
Main Duties:- As detailed above: some hours over the weekend, playing inside, or in our garden, or outside our house in the park: pick up from school or After School Club, take t playground and monitor/play with him; bathtime once a week (shadowing me to start with, so he feels comfortable); bedtime on occasion (but frequently enough so child is used to it for when I go away); potential babysitting.
- Clean child/change clothes if toilet accidents occur (which they do!)
- Potentially getting child lunch during the weekend care
These duties may vary from day to day.
Any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.
