Care Assistant for a lady 11.5 hours @11.44/hr in TS18 - FTE - £0.0k

Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 7da51583

An opportunity has arisen to provide support to a lady for 11.5 hours per week with all aspects of daily livi ng. She is living with MS in the Stockton area. The hours will be for 3 days a week at 1 hr 30 min on a Sunday morning,2 hr 30 min on a Wednesday so I can have a shower and 3.5 hours on a Tuesday to get me up followed by 2 hours social time and 1hr 15 minutes each week to put me to bed .

We are keen to build a team to cover the hours throughout the week so you would be expected to cover holidays. Start times are flexible, to take into account bus timetables, but we are looking for around 8 am and 6.30pm start times each day.

The successful candidate will be reliable and have a positive approach to work.
Experience of using a hoist and familiarity of one person hoisting is desirable but training will be given.Ideally you will have worked as a Personal Assistant before and be comfortable assisting in all aspects of the job including personal care. I have had a colostomy and it may be necessary to remove/replace the stoma pouch and clean around the stoma. Also I have a catheter and requirement to change and empty waste will also be necassary. Training will be given if required.
I live with my husband and our very friendly cockapoo. I have had MS for 13 years and am now at the stage of needing hoisting for every transfer. I need help getting up, washed/showered and getting dressed each morning and then being put to bed at night. There would be some light domestic duties such as ironing, hoovering, emptying the dishwasher or tumble dryer too.
We have a large Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) which enables me to get out and about. If you have a clean UK driving licence and are over 25 it will be possible to include you on the insurance. This would allow us to maybe go out for a cuppa, go to the shops/garden centre or take the dog further afield for a walk.
Successful candidates would be subject to an enhanced DBS check, cost to be met by the employer. Funding is through the council and by Direct Payments. Extra hours will be available to cover holidays.
