Doing Amazing Things Together

We’re all about possibilities. Are you?

Can you hit a strike at bowling? Do you enjoy a game of snooker or pool? Perhaps you prefer making a splash in the swimming pool?

Become a Support Worker

What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.

Our outreach support in the Wakefield area works with over 25 people living in their own homes. We need people like you to ensure they can live as independently as possible.

We are looking for flexible and open-minded people to join our team. If you are energetic and love trying new activities and are passionate about helping people to access their community, then we want to hear from you.

You could be empowering people to maintain or learn new skills needed to live their best life!

For this role we need you to be a driver with access to your own vehicle, so you can get around Wakefield, Pontefract, Featherstone and Castleford and make the most of the time you are spending with the people you support.

All shifts are between 8am and 9.30pm.

So, if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.

Ability to commute/relocate: LS9 - You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence

Why Join Us?

What will we do?

We will train you in everything you need to be a great Support Worker. We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS, and we have a mentorship scheme in place to provide support and guide you on your journey with us.

We provide a package of benefits that make it that bit easier to be your best and we can also support you to achieve a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care and pursue a career that takes on more responsibility.

We offer Wagestream - a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback and more.

You will be entitled to annual leave with the ability to buy additional leave

Fully funded health cash plans giving you access to a 24 hour GP, money back on prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians and access to many more health benefits

What will you do?

Supporting people is really important but it’s not all swimming and bowling. We also support people to take their medication, make healthy lifestyle choices or maintain their home in a way they are safe and well.
It sounds exciting to say no two days will be the same, but in support, sometimes they are. Sometimes people like routine and struggle with change… But when you support someone to try something new – what a feeling!
If you want to empower people to live the life they choose and you share our values… Apply to become a Support Worker today.
