Job purpose: Would you enjoy supporting a young man gain independence?
This rewarding role involves working with an 18 year old man to go out and about more when not at college, and to spend time at the family home for companionship.
The young man has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), Anxiety, multiple neurodisabilities, and a brain injury, which effects aspects of his physical and mental health.
Location: Watton, IP25
Details:
- Promote independence - Full support required with daily living tasks when at home or out and about.
- Encouraging him to get involved with cooking simple meals, everyday tasks, and to try new experiences.
- Ensure medication is taken when required.
- Support with money purchases when out and about.
- Take him to college in Norwich (when mother is unable to).
- Supervise and support with contact with the father and his friends.
- Promote friendships, going out socially, following instructions from the family around alcohol for safety reasons.
- Work closely with the family, and assist the family in having a break. Not to change current routine unless otherwise told.
- Go for days out.
Person Specification:

Essential:
- Full UK driving licence
- Use of own vehicle for work purposes

- Experience in ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and or ADHD, and Dementia care. Further training available
- Medication training - Further training available
- Flexible
- Entry level in Maths and English due to money handling and paperwork.
Summary Terms and Conditions:
The rate of pay for this position is £15 p/h.
Hours and times of work as follows: 40hrs a month in total, which can be used flexibly. For example; 10hrs a week, 20hrs over two weeks, 40 over one week. Days and times to be discussed at interview.
A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer
Please be aware that the family can give notice to terminate employment at any point from training and through the 6 months probationary period.
The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
