I am seeking a compassionate individual to support my mum as a personal assistant (PA) who can provide support for her in various tasks and also provide companionship. My mum is a delightful individual who could use assistance in accessing the community and engaging in various activities that enhance her overall well-being. This role involves assisting with daily life activities and fostering an environment that promotes independence.
Location: PE 30
Job Description:
Mum needs prompting and reassurance, but no personal care.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided; you just need to ensure she has her breakfast and lunch.
She enjoys cups of tea, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Mom was an avid reader but has limited ability now.
You must be okay with cats (we have two, though one is likely to hide during visits).
Provide companionship and support during outings.
Take her to the community hub occasionally to meet neighbours.
Help and support in and around the house.
Person specification
Essential:
Full UK driving license holder with appropriate business insurance cover.
The ideal candidate would require a calming, reassuring, Caring and Patience
The person I employ, must have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work including total respect for my privacy.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the individual's needs.
Knowledge or Experience in looking after individuals with Alzheimer’s.
Summary terms and conditions
The rate of pay for this position is £11.68 per hour.
Hours and times of work: 5 Hrs Per Week, Time discussed further at interview.
The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
Free Care Skills training is provided to employed staff.
The post is subject to the following:
A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
Satisfactory references from two referees, one of whom must be your current or last employer.
Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
