Job Title: Support Worker

Job ref: MB-WM-SCC

Responsible to: Employer

Rate of pay: £12.50 PH

Hours of Work: 14 Hours per week
Hours to be discussed at interview stage

Location: Leek, ST13

Purpose of the Job:

I am a 52 year old transgender female living in Leek ST13, I enjoy cooking and catching up on my favourite TV shows.
I have spinal arthritis and I am looking for a support worker to support me for 14 hours a week.
The purpose of this role is to build a trusting professional relationship and support me with personal & social care and to help me develop a good quality of life.
PA to support with:
Meal and drink preparation,
Shopping – picking up items not available by delivery.
Personal care (showering / hair washing) – mopping wet room floor after use. Mobility / getting around the home safely.
Managing / ordering / collecting medication
Laundry – supporting with elements that I cannot complete independently e.g. carrying washing up and down the stairs.
Cleaning / ensuring home remains tidy and pathways are clear to reduce risk of trips / falls
Accessing the community / appointments
Paperwork / correspondence

Personal Specification
Be a driver with own vehicle (Business insurance will be required when in post)
Be patient and supportive.
Be friendly and outgoing.
Be honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
Be respectful of the employer’s dignity, at all times.
Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
Have an awareness and knowledge of equal opportunities.
