A little about myself:
I am a young boy with ASD, a learning disability and Type 1 Diabetes. I can say some words and understand when people say things in small sentences, I understand more than I speak. I love my spinny chair, my iPad and playing in water.
I will need a PA who drives to take me to fun places for me to play and let off steam. The kinds of places I like to go can change so you need to speak to mum and dad about where is suitable. I am ok in the car but will need a five-point harness in my car seat because I wriggle and try to get out of my car seat when I feel restless. I will need the child locks in the car on as well.

Driver required to take me out.

Female preferred.

Hours of work:
6 hours per week term time
12 hours per week school holidays

Rate of pay:
£12.75
£0.39p per mile.

Essential:
My type 1 diabetes is not very stable, so you will need to be trained by my lovely diabetes nurse in how to look after me, check my blood sugar, and give me insulin if needed.

Desirable:
I’d prefer if: You had experience of children with ASD, as this helps me to communicate with you.

I’d like support with:
Building emotional resilience in a setting separate to my family.
• Calming down if I become overwhelmed.

I will need my PA to:

Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
