Acute Frailty Ward

We have an exciting opportunity available at the Royal Cornwall Hospital for Registered Nurses to join our committed team on the Acute Frailty Unit in the Acute and Emergent Medicine Group.
This is an 18 bedded unit focused on early intervention with the more frail population, focussed on targeted and holistic assessment on rectifying frailty syndromes with an aim to treating and facilitating discharge or onwards flow to other base wards within 72 hours. We work closely with the acute admission teams and emergency department in creating flow and work with a wide MDT including those in the community to ensure safe and supported discharges. This results in a fast paced and exciting ward environment where we as a team ensure quality is not sacrificed.
We are seeking applications from registered nurses who have the ability and determination to learn and to gain new skills and competencies and who are motivated to develop the highest standards of care and who are committed to continuous improvement.
This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours per week.

To work as a skilled member of the nursing team.
To provide a high standard of compassionate patient-centred care.
To lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team.
To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff, as deemed appropriate by the Ward Leader or Clinical Matron.
Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills and have a good knowledge and understanding of clinical standards. You must be able to work on your own initiative and also be an excellent team player whilst being prepared to develop as an individual and support others to develop.
