Are you a qualified physiotherapist or about to qualify as a physiotherapist? Are you looking for a focused role in MSK with excellent support, training, and career progression?

Here at UHCW NHS Trust we have an exciting opportunity to offer MSK roles within our three Outpatient Departments across Coventry and Rugby. The developing Coventry MSK Pathway offers opportunities to gain a wide range of experience in MSK conditions in both primary and secondary care settings. Successful candidates will be expected to rotate across all three Outpatient Departments to maximise learning and development potential working towards our career framework.

We have a Band 5 Physiotherapist role available for candidates who wish to focus their career in the rapidly advancing MSK field. This post offers2 x full-time permanent positions and 1 x fixed-term 12 months contract.You will be supported by a specialist team made up of a Consultant Physiotherapy Lead, Extended Scope Practitioners, Advanced Practitioners, First Contact Practitioners, and Clinical Specialists and provided with high quality CPD opportunities. There are opportunities to access funding to support attendance at external courses to further your clinical and leadership development.

Candidates must -
• Be highly motivated to pursue a career in MSK Physiotherapy
• Show initiative and desire to develop skills with assistance of senior support as well as self-directed learning
• Be a pro-active, flexible team player with excellent organisational and communication skills
• Whilst basic rotational experience would be desirable, newly qualified candidates with a variety of student experiences and a desire to pursue a career in MSK will be considered.
• Behave consistently with the values and beliefs of the organisation and promote these on a day-to-day basis.
• Act as a role model to colleagues, always seeking to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
• Use their initiative and take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their work and the service they provide to patients.
• To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based / client centred principals to assess, plan, implement and evaluate and record interventions.
• To provide clinical support for less experienced staff, as delegated by the Team Leader.
• To contribute to the maintenance & development of the Physiotherapy service.

• Work in accordance with the CSP and HCPC rules of professional conduct and within local care pathways, policies, and standard.
• Professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of his/her own professional activities and to manage clinical risk within own caseload at all times, whilst remaining responsible to Team Leader/Clinical Specialist.
• Promote awareness of the role of Physiotherapy.

• Responsible for own personal development, keeping up to date with physiotherapy practice in order to establish and maintain competence and fitness to practice as a physiotherapist. To maintain a professional evidence-based portfolio, meeting the requirement of the HCPC.
• Review and reflect on own practice and performance and make effective use of professional and operational supervision and annual review undertaking supervision of others as agreed. Complying with agreed development programmes to meet knowledge, skills and competency requirements.
• Demonstrate a good understanding and application of national guidelines and legislation relating to health and social care in service provision.
• Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate current research, apply to practice and disseminate findings at a local level.
• Widen research and development skills through participation in local audit and research projects.
• Responsible for the supervision and written assessment of Physiotherapy students on practice placement within the Trust.
