Job Purpose:I am a visually impaired, diabetic lady with mobility issues (I use a walker and a manual wheelchair) and I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with day-to-day tasks. This post would ideally be a job share with another Personal AssistantI have three sons, the youngest will start year 2 in September. I would like someone to support me with all aspects of morning routine for myself and my youngest; getting up, personal care and breakfast. You will also be required to assist me with taking my son to and from school during the school year. Other weekly tasks to be completed as and when needed could include batch cooking, cleaning, some light gardening duties as well as supporting me with attending various appointments and activities. During the weekends I would like further support to spend quality time with my young son like playing, going out for walks or going shopping in the city. Exact list of duties will be advised beforehand. Successful candidates need to hold a clean UK driving licence and have the appropriate business insurance coverLocation: Norwich, NR5Details:Personal care - particularly feet care and cutting nails. Washing back and hair when my condition prevents me from doing this easilyMedication - assistance with opening packages and blister packs as I do not have a good grip with my handsMeal preparation - healthy diet, batch cookingSupport with taking my youngest son to schoolSupport with attending various appointmentsSupported activities and parenting supportCleaning and general household tasksHelp with the garden like mowing the lawn and odd bits of workSupport when I need to take my cats to vet appointmentsPerson specificationEssential:Caring, with sensitive and gentle manner.Serious approach to care.Patient with a calm manner.Friendly with good sense of humour.Likes cats.Driver with own car and appropriate business insurance.Experience of caring for young children.Desirable:Female carer preferred for the personal care element.Experience with caring for someone with visual impairment.Experience of caring for someone with Fibromyalgia.Summary terms and conditions:· The rate of pay for this position is £14 per hour.· Hours and times of work: Job share 37 hours per week split over 5 days as follows: around 37 hours Monday to Friday to start at 07:30 until 12:00, supporting with my son getting to and from school for around 30 minutes in the morning and then 30 minutes in the afternoon (08:30-09:00 and then again 15:00-15:30). Then again at 15:00 until 16:00. Exact timings will be agreed mutually before hand depending on the day.
· The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.Post is subject to the following:· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.· Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
