We are excited to advertise two band 6 positions. One position will be a static team member within Renal, whilst the other will join the established band 6 rotation programme. Salford Dietetics is a forward thinking team with a deserved reputation for quality improvement, service development and research activities. Coming to join our team within our will allow you to get involved in these activities first hand as well as being able to develop your clinical and professional skills in a University teaching hospital within a team of over 50 dietetic and support staff.

The renal service covers the North West Area of Manchester(Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Wigan and Bolton). Patients are frequently multimorbid and need specialist advice on renal dietary management in relation to a potential variety of other conditions to help maintain fluid status and biochemical parameters. The team cover all aspects of renal disease including chronic kidney disease, dialysis (home, peritoneal and home), transplant and acute admissions.

The rotations last for 12 months and positions available currently within:
• Aged and Complex Medicine (ACM)
• Renal Medicine
• UGI/Surgical gastroenterology
• Nutrition Support Team
• Medical gastroenterology
• Neurology / Neurosciences
• Critical Care

You should have good post registration experience of working as a Band 5/6 with some existing skills in at least one of the specialities within the rotation.

Day to day activities differ according to the specialism within which you will work but all will allow you to develop a wide range of clinical skills. Within the wider dietetic team there are opportunities to develop other skills such as supervision, training and taking part in/leading on audits and QI projects.
