As part of this role, you will support the Pharmacy Technician Team Managerfor Dispensariesto ensure the dispensaryat Maghull Health Parkmeets its qualityandactivitytargets. You will manage the workload of the dispensary and supervise staff on a day-to-day basis, organising rotas and cover for any unexpected staff absences to ensure a safe, effective, and timely service in accordance with current legislation and guidanceand supported by policies and procedures. You will also hold HR management responsibilities.

1. On a daily basis, to manage a team of dedicated pharmacy staff, including students, support workers & other dispensary-based staff, in the supply of dispensed medication for inpatients and outpatients, including discharge, weekend leave, self-administration of medication, community prescriptions and the supply of compliance aids and patient information leaflets.
2. To act as a leader within the relevant setting.
3. To manage the operational aspects of the dispensary service on a day-to-day basis to ensure that receipt, dispensing, checking, supply and delivery of medicines meet the pharmaceutical supply needs of the trust in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
4. To oversee the ordering and supply of controlled stationery e.g., FP10, NMP and FP10MDA-SS to ensure a safe and secure service
5. To act as a final accuracy checker for individually dispensed prescriptions.
6. To ensure optimum use of the pharmacists who are allocated to dispensary duties via direct supervision, in order to provide a timely, effective and safe dispensary service.
7. To assess the training needs of the pharmacy staff allocated to the dispensary and as part of professional development planning provide competency-based training, furthermore, to work with the education and training team to ensure that induction and on-going training provided to
administrative and support staff, technicians and pharmacists (including pre-registration pharmacists and undergraduate students) is of the highest quality with regard to dispensary services.
8. To act as a supervisor to relevant staff during induction/training periods within the relevant service.
