About Us
At United Response, we are more than just a charity—we are a vibrant community dedicated to empowering people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in breaking down barriers and ensuring that every individual has the right to live, work, and thrive in their community.
We are currently expanding our dedicated team in Welwyn, where we provide exceptional care to eight remarkable individuals with complex needs. Our mission is to enrich their lives, and we need passionate Support Workers to help make that happen.
Your Role as a Support Worker
As a Support Worker, you will be a crucial part of our team, providing both practical and emotional support. Your role will include:
- Assisting with daily tasks such as cooking and cleaning
- Organising and participating in fun and engaging leisure activities
- Accompanying individuals on holidays and outings
- Helping our clients access community resources and opportunities
- Promoting and encouraging independence
- Providing personal care and managing complex needs
- Coordinating with other agencies and families
You’ll also use our digital app, Nourish, to manage care and support plans. Don’t worry if you’re not tech-savvy—full training will be provided!
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking individuals who are:
- Kind, compassionate, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping others
- Able to think on your feet and adapt to varying situations
- Bring a bright personality and a sense of humor to your work
- Experience with learning disabilities is a plus, but not essential

- £11.75 per hour
- 20 days paid annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays, pro rata for part-time roles), with additional leave after 3 and 5 years
