We are currently seeking to recruit a professionally qualified and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with post graduate qualifications and experience in SI to work as part of the integrated Clinical team based in children’s service at Sutherland House School, Nottingham. This skilled and friendly team includes speech therapists and a therapy assistant. As well as regular line management supervision, clinical supervision will be provided through an external provider.
This post requires an empathic, creative and skilled therapist, with relevant experience working with children and young people with Autism and complex learning needs, ideally within a specialist school environment. You will be responsible for working collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team, including school staff, to provide effective interventions, advice, and support for the children, young people and their families/carers. This is a great opportunity to build on and support the continued development of occupational therapy services within school, including:
• Providing advice and training for staff
• Assisting pupils with their functional and motor skills and supporting their sensory needs within the educational context
• Providing therapeutic input/provision as indicated by EHC Plans and contributing to reviews
• Providing pupils who have sensory integration needs with appropriate sensory diets/programmes
