A little about myself: I am a young boy with ASD, PICA and GDD. I love playing in water and sand. My favourite TV program is Peppa Pig. I will need a PA who drives to take me to fun places for me to play and use up my energy. The activities will need to be quite close to home, as I get bored in the car and will try to escape from my car seat. I am ok in the car but will need a five-point harness with a Houdini strap in my car seat because I wriggle and try to get out of my car seat when I feel restless. I will need the child locks in the car on as well. I will need you to be quick on your feet, and keep your eyes on me as I love to climb, I put things in my mouth that I shouldn’t, and I rarely sit still. I will go to the toilet if you take me, but I do wear a pull up when not at home just in case.

Driver required to take me out.

Female preferred.

Hours of work
4 hours per week term time and 10 miles.
8 hours per week school holidays and 15 miles.

Rate of pay.
£12.75 per hour
£0.39p per mile.

Essential:
I am an escape artist, so you will need to be quick on your feet and keep a close eye on me. I rarely sit still so you will need to be very patient with me. I put objects in my mouth that don’t belong there because I have PICA, so you will need to keep a close eye on me and fish out anything inedible in case I choke. You will need to know about ASD and learn my cues, because I don’t speak yet.
You will need to be patient and kind and support me to enjoy myself in settings away from my parents.

Desirable
I’d prefer if: You had experience of children with ASD, as this helps me to communicate with you.

I’d like support with:
• Building emotional resilience in a setting separate to my family.
• Calming down if I become overwhelmed.

I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
