Student Nursing Associate

Fixed Term Apprenticeship for 24 months

Full time - 37.5 hours per week

The Student Nursing Associate has a willingness to undertake a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care, and support people of all ages in a variety of settings.

Student Nursing Associates are prepared to be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to their area of employment and will work to the NMC Code of Conduct.

On successful completion of training and with approval from your line manager there will be an informal process to more onto a permanent role on the ward.

Work as a member of the multi professional team providing clinical care to patients in the home and community clinic settings as delegated by the registered nurse or registered health care professional.

Ensure a high standard of patient-centred care.

Promote self-management of health needs and adopt a positive risk based care approach.

Carry out all relevant forms of care, without direct supervision, and may be required to demonstrate simple procedures to registered and/or non-registered staff undertaking training where agreed with the nursing team.

Nursing Associates can deliver complex care, defined as patients with complex care needs with a combination of multiple chronic conditions, mental health issues, medication-related problems, and social vulnerability if a specific protocol has been written for that group of employees in that particular setting.
