We are currently recruiting to our safeguarding team and are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and innovative individual with experience of safeguarding children. Our team offers a Mon-Fri 9-5pm service).

You will be a highly visible experienced health practitioner, providing specialist knowledge, advice and clinical expertise to all staff in the Trust and the community in all areas of Safeguarding Children/ Child Protection.

The Safeguarding Specialist Practitioner will be a member of the ESNEFT Safeguarding Families & Complex Health team and will enable a holistic approach to the care of the most vulnerable children; young people and their families in delivering safeguarding advice, support, training and supervision.

You will provide the professional interface between hospital and community services with respect to the welfare of children, providing a robust and safe communication system for the effective and timely flow of information between hospital and community health professionals and other agencies as appropriate.

You will be reviewing and identifying vulnerable children and families who have accessed ESNEFT health care services to ensure the relevant health and social care professionals are informed in a timely manner.

You will also be assisting in the co-ordination and contribution to inter-professional training in safeguarding children across the Trust and will be expected to deputise for the Named Nurse as required. We therefore welcome applications from individuals who have experiential knowledge of safeguarding.

The safeguarding children team have a robust audit programme which the post holder will participate in. • To facilitate high standards of professional practice and delivery of care by working with Trust and Divisional guidelines and protocols,
• Work within the Safeguarding Families & Complex HealthTeam providing support as required and responding appropriately to any safeguarding issues.
• To assist in the co-ordination and deliver inter-professional training in safeguarding across the Trust.
