An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Pharmacist to join the Infectious Diseases team working at North Manchester General
Hospital. You will deliver a high-quality, patient focused, clinical pharmacy service to inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases service users.
The ID service at NMGH is a regional specialist centre, and delivers care to a wide range of patient groups. In addition to an inpatient infectious
diseases unit, we also provide outpatient clinic services, homecare services and outreach services to ensure access to our varied and often
complex cohort of service users, including the largest cohort of HIV patients outside London/South East England, and one of the largest Hepatitis C treatment centres in England.
Prior experience in Infectious Diseases is not essential - we encourage you to apply if you have a passion for ID or infection, and have previous
experience working in a specialist clinical area.
To deliver a high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service for infectious diseases and to establish effective relationships with clinical staff and other stakeholders delivering inpatient and outpatient care to our service users.
To promote the responsible, safe , clinically-effective and cost-effective use of medicines within the ID service.
To support education and development of medical, nursing and pharmacy staff in your role as Highly Specialist Pharmacist for ID.
You will develop your leadership and management skills within Pharmacy, and as a senior member of the ID Pharmacy Team will be expected to
deputise for the 8b Lead Pharmacist when required.
In addition to having a passion for infectious diseases you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as
part of a team whilst also managing your own workload. You must be able to manage and motivate others and have the ability to influence the
multidisciplinary team and engage with key stakeholders.
