We are currently looking for Support Workers/enablers to work for a 16-year-old girl to provide care at home as well as support accessing the local community with leisure activities.

The role would be suitable for one person or as a job share situation.

Due to the hours, it would also be suitable for someone wishing to fit around other commitments.Hours: 20 hours per week, to be broken down as follows:

Monday – Friday 7.00 – 8.30am; and, 7.00-8.30pmSaturday & Sunday 9.00-10.30am; and, 7.00-8.00pmEvening times can be flexible and will be arranged with the employer. During school holidays these hours can be used more flexibly.Role Responsibilities:I am a full-time powered wheelchair user who needs help with day-to-day living. I have a neuro-muscular condition which means I am unable to stand or walk, and I have limited strength in my arms. In all other ways I am a teenager just like any other – I love to read, write poetry and sing. I enjoy musical theatre, going to the movies, shopping and meeting up with friends for coffee.

I’d love to find someone you could provide the care I need as well as in future enable me to access activities in the community.

I need help with personal care such as showering, dressing and toileting using mobility aids and hoists. Previous experience with hoisting is not necessary as full training will be provided.

The area I live in is well served by buses and trains. A driving license is useful, but not essential.

You Must:

· Someone who can relate to a teenager and have a laugh· Someone who understands disabilities and a positive caring nature· Have a high degree of initiative and who is able to improvise and solve problems when out and about· Someone who is respectful and will respect confidentiality· Someone who is punctual and reliable and never left unsupervised.· Someone who is flexible when needed.

Rate of Pay: £15.04 per hour

Enhanced DBS disclosure - will be required, cost to be met by employer.
