Occupational Therapy is recognised as having an essential and core role within the multi-disciplinary team and is at the forefront of developing recovery and therapeutic interventions. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant who is looking to positively contribute to this innovative approach to promote the therapeutic engagement of service users.

What is High Cost Area Allowance?

The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas.

As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.
• 5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per year and a maximum payment of £2,011 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly

You will be responsible for supporting the Occupational Therapy team to carry out assessments, treatments, group work and individual interventions. You will also have the opportunity to work within a dynamic and creative environment. You will work closely with the team to implement and provide a therapeutic programme which supports the use of activity in order to aid recovery and enable a timely and sustained discharge.

This position would suit someone with a keen interest in working in the mental health field. You will need to have good team working skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both staff and service users. You will be required to work between the hours of:

08.00 – 20.00 Monday – Friday (Friday working essential) and 09.00 – 18.00 weekends to reflect clinical need. However some flexibility may be required, to support the 7-day programme.
