A permanent vacancy has arisen for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, to be based at Prescott House Adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). You will provide positive leadership, support and advice to social work staff and assist the Team Manager in ensuring the delivery of effective services for adults experiencing a range of severe mental health conditions.
The post holder will lead on the delivery of statutory social care functions at the CMHT in accordance with the Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983, as amended),
Mental Capacity Act (2005) and other relevant legislation. You will have responsibility to provide line management and professional supervision to the team’s social workers and act as supervisor to newly qualified ASYE social workers. You will need to model effective practice in complex situations, providing a strengths based and person centred approach while managing identified risks. You will need to network and liaise with a wider range of professionals and other colleagues, including at more senior or strategic levels. As the Advanced Social Work Practitioner you will be expected to promote a culture of professional curiosity and contribute to the positive social work identity within the organisation.
• Provide consultation and guidance with respect to complex social care practice issues to care coordinators and senior staff within the team.
• Support and provide professional supervision to social workers working in the CMHT
• Assist the Team Manager in providing leadership to the team and ensuring effective service delivery by promoting high standards of practice.
• Act as Care Coordinator in accordance with the Care Programme Approach. The caseload will be significantly reduced in recognition of other duties.
• Carry out social work duties and interventions in relation to complex cases, requiring the high levels of skills, knowledge and professional expertise.
