Shared Lives Carers provide long-term social care placements in their own homes to support people from the age of 18, with learning disabilities, mental health, autism and Asperger’s, physical disabilities, sensory impairment or who are living with dementia and older people or who have lifelong disabilities who need personal care support in a homely environment.
The Shared Lives Longer Term Carer provides a home for adults with care and support needs. Being a Longer-Term Carer is not a lifelong commitment and placements are not permanent, however placements can last between 1 year and upwards of 25 years.
As a self-employed carer, you work from your own home, choose your own hours, receive generous income tax incentives and can earn up to £1,776 per week. From the moment you decide to become a Shared Lives carer we provide a dedicated support worker to guide you.
