We are excited to be advertising a Structured Clinical Management (SCM) practitioner role based here in adult secondary care teams in Haringey.

The SCM Practitioner role offers the opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced mental health practitioner to further develop their skills in offering an evidenced-based intervention for service users with Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) including complex trauma/complex PTSD symptoms. The post holder will work alongside other SCM practitioners and Practitioner Psychological therapists to implement SCM as part of a core offer.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Mental Health Practitioner (e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Associate Psychologist) with additional training in SCM, DBT or MBT, ideally with an existing interest in complex PTSD and complex trauma. In addition, the ideal candidate will have worked with services users with CEN and cPTSD/complex trauma offering assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention.

You will have access to SCM training and regular supervision (e.g. group and/or individual). You will work as a member of the Complex Emotional Needs team providing 1-1 and group interventions to service users with complex emotional and relational needs and other comorbidities (e.g. PTSD symptoms) as part of a core offer. You will work with a caseload of people within the SCM programme.

The post holder will work alongside other mental health practitioners to provide Structured Clinical Management (SCM) as part of a core offer to those with a diagnosed personality disorder or significant emotional and relational difficulties alongside other comorbidities (e.g. cPTSD symptoms). You will provide SCM assessment, formulation, group and individual intervention and hold a caseload. You will receive regularly supervision in a group setting and individual supervision. You will participate in other clinical and non clinical activities in the team as needed.

The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

The post holder is expected to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with other staff members characterised by trust, mutual respect, and open, honest communication.

Colleagues and Co- workers within the three pathways within the Complex Emotional Needs team (Personality Disorder, cPTSD, Mood, Anxiety and Personality)
Colleagues within other Boroughwide services, for example and the core teams.

External Relationships
External Agencies within service user network, eg. GP, housing, social care, VSE.
