I am a friendy, bright, caring, engaging person who trys to always to see the positive.
I am 52 years old.
Although I do have bad days sometimes I always try to be helpful.
I am Autistic with both mental and physical disabilities. I also suffer with Agoraphobia but I do work on this.
Sometimes I find it hard to speak up for myself but not always.
I may find things stressful that others do not.
I like to be environmentally friendly.
To be right for the role you should be caring, empathetic, pro active, patient and understanding with a calming personality. You will need to have a sense of humour as I like to have a laugh. You will be a driver with room for a wheelchair as I use one when I am out. You will need to be flexible and observant and able to follow a plan of activity's. I would also need you to be honest and able to respect confidentiality.
The job role would include, Gentle encouragement, motivation and support whilst also respecting my decisions.
Taking to and supporting me at medical appointments.
Support on trips out and occasionally visiting friends and family.
Some light housework and light personal care.
Taking part in crafts and the occasional workshop.
Assisting me to dress.
Checking things have been done.
Drinks and meal preparation.
Keeping a habital environment.
Companionship is a big part of the role.
Reminders and updating my board.
Support during visits in my home.
May include some shopping and help with deliveries.
Making phone calls.
Assisting to grow food.
Adhoc tasks as they arrive.
Does not include handling medication except for picking them up from the pharmacy every 4 weeks. You will need to have the correct insurance and a dbt check.
It is important that you like cats, I have one, he is the man of the house hehe.
