Job title: Self-Employed Personal Assistant (PA)

Reporting to: The Employer

Location: Powick, Worcestershire WR2

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer:
Our client is a 46-year-old female living in the Powick area of Worcestershire who is looking for a Self-Employed Personal Assistant to provide support for 19 hours per week with all aspects of daily living for her and her children.

Main duties:
Social duties:
 keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
 attend medical appointments if required
 access local community
 support children to and from school
 attend social events if required

Personal care: support with all personal care for our client & the children. Support with medication.

Domestic duties: support with grocery shopping, cooking and serving nutritious meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry and ironing.

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

Type of person that you/they are looking for:
 Values someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity.

 Specific requirements someone with previous experience of working with children with special education needs. Must be a driver.

 Other: due to the nature of this role including personal care the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.

Hours of work: 19 hours per week –
AM 7:30-9:00
PM 3:00-4:30
Saturday & Sunday 4pm-6pm

Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
 driving licence
 car and appropriate insurance
 previous care & support experience
 confidentiality
 good at building relationships
Preferred:
 computer literate
 good communicator
 a good listener
 ability to support people with complex care needs.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
