Day shifts available
A 40 year old man with MS, living in the west of Edinburgh, is recruiting for his team of personal assistants, to help him with personal care, domestic and social support and to live independently in his own home.
This position is for 30 hours per week with the following shifts:
Monday 1pm-8pm
Tuesday 12noon-8pm
Friday 1pm-8pm
Saturday 12noon-8pm
The team covers support 24/7 and you may be asked to provide cover for holidays and sickness.
The employer is mentally very able but will require assistance with all aspects of daily living. He cannot weight bear and uses a wheelchair and a hoist for transfers. (Training will be given).
It is important to say that the employer is a smoker.
He has an excellent sense of humour and appreciates when others do too. He enjoys most kinds of music from AC/DC to classical.
Previous experience supporting someone with a disability is preferred. However, it is most important that you are a caring person with good communication and listening skills and who would be most concerned with the safety and happiness of your employer.
You must be reliable, trustworthy and punctual, in order that his daily routine runs smoothly.
Post is subject to references and you may be required to join the PVG scheme.
Rate of pay: £14.18 per hour
