Job Title: Stalking Helpline Advisor

Location: Hybrid - South West London Office

Contract Type: Permanent / Full-Time

Salary: £27.3k-29.7k Per Annum

About the Role:

We are looking for compassionate and skilled individuals to join our team as Helpline Advisors on a national helpline for those affected by stalking and harassment. This role provides a vital support system, offering guidance, information, and practical advice to help empower individuals impacted by stalking. If you have a strong sense of empathy, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to helping others, this role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Respond to calls, emails, and other forms of communication from individuals impacted by stalking.

  • Offer empathetic listening, guidance, and emotional support to helpline users.

  • Provide accurate information about stalking behaviours, personal safety planning, and appropriate resources.

  • Work closely with support teams and external agencies to ensure callers receive coordinated support and assistance.

  • Maintain detailed records and update databases to ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Assist in raising awareness about stalking and available resources to help educate the public.


Essential Requirements:



  • Proven experience in a helpline, support, or advisory role, ideally within a social care or mental health setting.

  • Strong understanding of issues related to stalking, harassment, and personal safety.

  • Exceptional listening skills, with the ability to convey empathy and support under challenging circumstances.

  • Resilience, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a dedicated team.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.

  • Proficiency in record-keeping and using CRM or case management systems.


Desirable:



  • Training or experience in safeguarding, domestic abuse support, or trauma-informed care.

  • Experience working in a helpline environment, handling a high volume of calls.

  • Ability to manage challenging conversations while maintaining professional boundaries.
