Grange & Elm Court
Role: Deputy Manager
Working Hours: 41.25 hours per week

About us:

The Grange & Elm Court is situated in Barnsley and offers a range of facilities for enabling people with mental health and addiction issues to work towards recovery, in a structured, safe and supportive environment.

We are current looking to recruit a highly dedicated and confident Deputy Manager with experience within this setting and within the care industry. This role is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Manager will be supporting the Home Manager in the supervision of all staff either directly or through Senior Care Assistants. The post holder will comply with standards of professional practice and conduct and will be part of the Home’s Senior Management Team with a lead responsibility for management, support and direction of care services.

What you’ll be doing

• Responsible for the day-to-day care of residents, delegating roles to care staff as appropriate.
• Management of staff directly or through others ensuring all work is carried out to the appropriate regulatory standards and in line with the company policies and procedures.
• Staff management will incorporate recruitment, team and individual meetings, supervision staff development and performance management.
• To provide supervision to the Care Staff, to ensure sustain the competencies necessary to meet the needs of the residents.
• To support the Home Manager in completion of assessments of residents needs and reviewing care plans.
• To anticipate resident and service user needs whenever possible to enhance the quality of
service offered by the teams.
• To ensure records are updated accurately safeguarding resident’s confidentiality in line with company policy.
• To liaise with residents, families and carers, the Home’s Manager, staff and other relevant parties to ensure effective communication.

What you will bring

• Experience in managing staff groups in a care establishment.
• Knowledge of CQC requirements.
• NVQ 3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care and a willingness to professionally develop.
• A naturally caring approach and a passion for helping people maintain their dignity, independence and choice.
• A respectful, courteous and compassionate nature and belief in giving your personal best at all times.
• Reliability and flexibility to support the needs of the business.
