An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 a motivated and organized person to join the Breast cancer team at the Royal Free. The postholders will work closely with the Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists and wider service to support and provide holistic care to patients with cancer and their carers. The successful candidates should have excellent communication skills. He/ she will liaise regularly with patients, carers, nurses, GPs and cancer support services, perform holistic needs assessments and refer patients to appropriate resources and agencies.



The successful candidates are required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.

To provide general information and support about cancer and cancer services, to enable people to navigate the health and social care system and make choices that are best for their cancer and their life. A key aspect of the role involves daily and direct (e.g. face to face and telephone) communication with patients, relatives, carers, and other health and social care professionals. The information and nature of the communication required is sensitive due to the nature of cancer. Communication in this context requires a high degree of empathy, understanding, diplomacy, honesty and integrity.

To support the delivery of personalised cancer care interventions to breast cancer patient, this will involve cross site working supporting the CNS team at the Royal Free Hampstead site and Chase Farm hospital.
