Job Purpose:I am a disabled lady looking for a Personal Assistant to provide parenting support. You will support my son who has a diagnosis of ASD to attend his football club on Tuesday evenings and to go to the park on Friday’s. During the school holidays you will be required to support me in my parenting role, including trips out with my son

Person specificationEssential:
Experience of children with Autism.Driver/own car with appropriate level of business insurance.Caring and considerate.Honest and reliable.Good sense of humour.Enthusiastic.Responsible and able to recognise problems, common sense.
Can use own initiative.Desirable:Experience or awareness of challenges faced by a family of a child with disabled parent.
Experience of supporting autistic child (or willingness to learn and complete training.)Summary Terms and Conditions

  • The rate of pay for this position is £15.00 p/h.
  • Hours and times of work as follows: up to 8 hours per week – Tuesday and Friday afternoons/evenings
  • Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
  • The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
  • You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as a part of the role
  • Free Care Skills Training provided to employed staff

The post is subject to the following:
  • A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
  • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
  • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
