Are you a passionate and skilled clinician who is interested in leading our creative and innovative Single Point of Access stream at South Manchester CAMHS. You will have proven experience of working within young people's mental health services and be confident and effective at managing risk. A working knowledge of legislation, national guidelines and protocol is essential in managing the "front door" into CAMHS. Working with partner agencies is essential and you will lead in the development of inter agency working. You must be able to lead by example, provide supervision and management to colleagues and use these skills to creatively support the evolution of the service.
The post holder will be responsible for the processes and oversight of the Single Point of Access (SPOA) service for South Manchester CAMHS. The role will coordinate the duty and assessment pathways in the context of a comprehensive and integrated CAMHS service, including the screening and oversight of referrals that come into the service for duty and routine appointments, triaging referrals and coordinating the duty and initial assessment processes.
The role will support the planning, coordination and delivery of effective and timely assessment of risk and mental health needs for children and young people with a range of complex problems. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the decision making around young people who are referred to the service for urgent assessment of risk via a variety of routes. see job description for further details.
The post holder will supervise and support the assessments and interventions provided by other clinical members of the multidisciplinary team who provide specialist clinical care and specialist therapeutic interventions. The post holder will provide clinical/ therapeutic expertise to colleagues to develop excellent evidence based practice; they will work collaboratively with other partner agencies and services.
