A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our local Community Mental Health Team as a Team Manager. Your role will also provide you with the opportunity to work alongside our colleagues to support the Community Transformation programme identified for Wandsworth Adult Community service line.
The team will provide you with the opportunity to manage, supervise and offer managerial support to a busy local community mental health team within secondary care. It will also offer you the opportunity to co-produce and collaborate with voluntary and other primary care-based services so that our service users get the best out of this approach to service delivery.
We aimto improve outcomes and experience for people with mental health conditions and physical illnesses. Also, addressing the mental health inequalities for our BME service-users.
· The clinical management of the Recovery and Support, line managing all staff.
· Working in conjunction with team members of all disciplines to provide a seamless, safe and comprehensive health and social care service.
· Championing the Trust Recovery and Social Inclusion strategy in the team.
· Managing Trust allocated resources in conjunction with the Clinical Service Lead.
· Maintaining clinical involvement with the team by, in conjunction with senior team members, providing guidance and supervision to staff working with people with complex needs.
· Ensuring that appropriate professional advice and consultation is available and sought to ensure all patients receive appropriate multi-disciplinary treatment.
Professional supervision will be provided according to the profession of the post holder.

· To be responsible for the smooth and effective operational management and co-ordination of the Community Rehabilitation Team.
· To lead on all team rehabilitation areas including step downs, supporting discharge, enabling least restrictive practice, promoting recovery and positive engagement with the wider community including the voluntary sector.
· To support and work closely with the South London Partnership Complex Care Programme enabling step downs, improving pathway and interface issues and always promoting recovery.
· To work in close partnership with the multi-disciplinary team to actively promoting team working.
· To have regular co-ordination meetings with the team to ensure that the separate elements of team accountabilities are fully addressed including Zoning meetings to ensure those service users with high needs and risk receive the appropriate level of intervention and support.
· To hold full managerial responsibility for all individual CMHT staff members (excluding the doctors) ensuring the various disciplines work within an agreed operational policy and providing support and consultation in the process.
· To work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist, to ensure that all medically qualified members of the team adhere to operational policies and fully engage in the multi-disciplinary process.
· To manage and supervise administrative and secretarial staff in the team.
· To ensure that all performance information identified as necessary is collected according to the timescale required.
· To ensure systems are in place to manage intake, allocation, caseloads and clinical review in the team.
· To carry through all agreed procedures regarding staff disciplinary and sickness absence arrangements for both Trust and Social Services Systems as appropriate to the level of the post. To work with the Service Manager and professional heads of discipline where required to process these issues.
· To promote the Trust’s Equal Opportunities strategy and implement procedures to further this process.
· To act according to the Schedule of Professional Behaviours’ (Appendix A).
