To provide support for 3 hours per week. To provide support to a 15 year old young man to enable him to access community and take part in leisure activities.

We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide support for a 15 year old young man who has a diagnosis of ADHD, ADD and a learning disability.

The purpose of your role will be to enable him to socialise, take part in different activities and to have time away from his family to give them a break from their caring role. You will mostly support out in the community.

He is friendly, happy young man and he loves people. He loves to talk and being sociable. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and pro active in their work.
You will support with going to the shops, going to eat at Mcdonalds, going to the cinema and visiting arcades. You will support to take part in activities of his choosing.

Each day will be different depending on what he wants to do on that day so you should be prepared to be flexible. We would also like our support worker to be able to suggest things to do out in the community so you should be willing to be proactive in finding various activities to take part in. We would prefer you to be a car driver with your own transport however this isn’t essential as public transport can be used.

Expenses will be met by your employer.
Hours - 3 hours per week school holidays. 5 hours per week during term time.
Hours will be discussed further at interview.

Rate of pay
£13.09 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata Person Specification

Successful applicant must:

  • Ideally have experience working as a support worker with children or adults
  • Have a positive understanding towards people with disabilities
  • Have a genuine interest in working within social care
  • Have a high degree of initiative
  • Be punctual and reliable
  • Be flexible
  • Have a happy, positive and caring nature.
  • Respect confidentiality.
  • Car driver preferable and must have business insurance.
An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by employer.
Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour Hours Breakdown:
