SENIOR THERAPUTIC CARE WORKER - CHILDREN'S RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Genesis are seeking a Senior Therapeutic Care Worker or an experienced and qualified TCW who is looking to step up into a Supervisory position.

About Us

Our residential homes care for young people aged between 13 and 21 who have experienced trauma in their lives. They may present with conditions such as Self Harm, EBD, BPD, eating disorders, or may have experienced antisocial conditioning such as CSE or traumatic HSB. Our skilled teams, led by clinical psychiatric and social care professionals work tirelessly and sensitively to improve young lives and offer them a brighter future.

Our nurturing homes are beautifully situated in glorious rural Gloucestershire hamlets and create a supportive family lifestyle, offering our young people a place of security and regular therapy. We also have an associated SEN school that supports their learning and development to a high standard.

About the role

Level 3 Diploma in Social Care, Children and Young Peoples workforce is essential for our STCW role.

We offer a strong salary of £36,000 which includes some sleep ins and weekends on a rota pattern. Additional benefits include pension, a company sick pay scheme, childcare support, and we currently offer fuel and inflation subsidies to help with the recent cost of living increases.

Seniors take on a supervisory role and run shifts, supporting the house management and guiding the support workers. They take an active role in providing the children with emotional, social and behavioural support in order to achieve their goals and help them overcome the traumas they have suffered.

Guided by the Registered Manager work you will proactively work with and direct the team within the daily routine and agreed structures of the house, to include day to day parenting responsibilities.

Strong on paperwork and procedural documentation, to include staff supervisions.

Exhibit leadership skills and assist the company with developing less experienced staff to their full potential.

Actively contribute to the provision of quality care, within which the health, welfare, education and development of young people is promoted.

The ability to help our children and young people learn social and interpersonal skills, develop a positive sense of self and build their self-esteem and confidence..

Ability to work closely with the Management team and represent the needs of the organisation.

Knowledge of CQC and/or OFSTED expected practice. To work in collaboration with the team to ensure that the home meet all regulatory and statutory requirements.

You must have a valid manual driving licence in order to be insured to drive company vehicles.

Our essential requirements

You must hold a full manual UK driving licence as you will be expected to transport the children in company cars

Age exemption due to regulatory requirements, candidates must be 21 years or older due to the nature of our service

You must successfully apply for an enhanced DBS certificate, and register with the update service, which the company will fund

You must have the right to work in the UK

You must be available to work to the house shift patterns which may include some unsociable hours over a 39 hour week

You must be able to provide acceptable references
