Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Nelson (BB9)
Salary: Up to £100 per day depending on experience.
Contract: Part-Time, Term Time Only

About the Role:

Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and compassionate team. In this role, you will provide essential support to students who require extra guidance and encouragement to succeed in a school environment. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff, you will help create a safe, positive, and nurturing atmosphere for students to thrive both academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.
- Support teachers with classroom management and student engagement.
- Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students develop essential social and emotional skills.
- Monitor and record students' progress, feeding back to the SENCO and teaching staff.

Requirements:

- Experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, or Social Care is desirable but not essential.
