Salary: G9 SCP 34-38 £43,693 - £47,754 per annum

(In addition we are introducing an allowance paid £2025 p.a., for applicants who are qualified Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs)).

Hours: 37 hours per week (full-time) Monday - Friday

An opportunity exists to join Rochdale Borough Council/Pennine Care Foundation Trust’s Integrated Mental Health Service as an Advanced Practitioner Social Worker within one of the community mental health teams (CMHTs) covering Rochdale. The post is fulltime and permanent.

The Job:

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Social Workers who have a working knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions, secondary mental health care pathways, social care interventions and experience of undertaking work in a formal supervisory capacity. This post is also ideal for those who feel ready for a career development move.

The post holder will act as a lead for social care in the Community Mental Health Team, providing leadership and supervision to social workers, support workers and support planners in the team, including supporting personalised commissioning of services to meet individual complex mental health needs.

Professional requirements:

Essential:

Qualified social worker

Registered with Social Work England

You must either have an AMHP qualification and practicing as an AMHP 9for which an allowance is paid); be on an AMHP training pathway or; be willing to train as an AMHP, in order to support both the AMHP rota and in the CMHT where use of the mental health act is being considered.

In addition, you must either be a qualified Best Interest Assessor, or be willing to train as a BIA to support the rota.

Knowledge and Skills required:

As a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, you will have experience of working in an adult social care/mental health setting and have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and procedural frameworks related to the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007), Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Safeguarding work.

Your significant experience working with individuals with severe mental health needs, means you will be experienced in managing complex risk and making decisions in a pressurised environment.

Knowledge and skills of working in a supervisory capacity, working with a wide range of partners and a working knowledge of quality assurance frameworks and measures are also part of the role.

The offer:

Regular supervision and continual professional development opportunities as part of the CMHT management team.

Training and career development opportunities may for example include: AMHP training, BIA training, Practice Educator training, opportunities to support student placements, ASYE and social Work progression pathways.

Applicants, who already have an AMHP qualification, will have the opportunity to practice as part of a rota that supports those AMHPs who are based within the dedicated AMHP Hub. There is regular professional supervision available to all AMHPs, refresher training, and management support. (In addition we are introducing an allowance paid £2025 p.a., for applicants who are qualified Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs)).

Applicants who are already a qualified Best Interest Assessor, will have the opportunity to take part on the BIA rota.
