Job Purpose:
I am a friendly young man with Down Syndrome and a congenital heart condition, who is seeking a PA to provide support inside the home with everyday living tasks, as well as accompany into the community for social and leisure activities.

Due to the nature of my condition, I cannot be left alone and require support 24 hours per day. I am seeking someone who can provide support for 1 or 2 weekends per month, this will involve working two consecutive days at a time, including one night’s sleep.

I am an active young man, who enjoy going out and about and experiencing new things. I enjoy activities such as going to the beach, cycling, walking etc. I also love cars, lorries and 4x4s and like to watch banger racing.

Location: Fakenham

Details:

  • Domestic care: laundry, general household cleaning etc.
  • Support with meal planning and preparation.
  • Support to maintain tenancy and address financial responsibilities.
  • Accompany me outside of the home for leisure activities.
  • Support to arrange and attend social events with friends and family.
  • Ensure that I am safe at home.
  • Support to maintain personal hygiene by prompting me to wash and brush my teeth.
  • Ensuring I wear appropriate and clean clothing day to day.
Essential:
  • Friendly, caring and patient.
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Someone who is firm and consistent with boundaries.
  • Someone with a strong character.
Desirable:
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willing to take up training as required.
Summary terms and conditions:
  • The rate of pay for this position: £11.68 per hour (day rate) and £47.13 per night (sleep-in rate).
  • You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
  • Hours and days of work: 1 or 2 weekends per month (will include 1 nights sleep per weekend). Exact days are flexible for the right candidate. Wiling ot consider Fridays to Saturdays, Saturdays to Sundays or Sundays to Mondays.
  • The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks
The post is subject to the following:
  • A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer
  • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer
  • Completion of a satisfactory three-month probationary period
  • Should this job role include any of the following duties: food handling, chemical handling (general household cleaning products) or manual handling, you will be required to undertake annual training.
