About the Employer
I am both the service user and employer who lives at home with my two children. I have a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, anxiety and depression and suffer low mood swings. This has an impact on my day to day life and results in me being extremely isolated and rarely leaving the house without support. I am seeking to employ a Personal Assistant for 6 hrs per week, to encourage, prompt and support me with daily tasks within my home and when accessing the community. Someone with good organisation skills to help me manage and attend appointments and diary, prompt me to maintain my personal hygiene and home to a good standard and to provide some companionship. The role will require some assistance in taking me shopping, managing calls and post and generally motivating me in all day to day aspects of life, especially during periods of low mood and depression

About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support with food shopping.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.
Prompting and motivating me to complete household chores.
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
