Job Overview

A Children We Care For Social Worker is dedicated to ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children under their care. This role involves working closely with children, families, and various agencies to provide support, advocacy, and intervention services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Assessments: Evaluate the needs and circumstances of children and their families through home visits and interviews.

  • Develop Care Plans: Create and implement individualised care plans to address the specific needs of each child and family.

  • Investigate Reports: Respond to and investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect, ensuring the safety of the child.

  • Provide Support Services: Offer counselling, support, and resources to children and families, including referrals to other services.

  • Coordinate with Agencies: Work with law enforcement, schools, health care providers, and other agencies to ensure comprehensive care.

  • Monitor Progress: Regularly review and update care plans, ensuring compliance with legal and agency requirements.

  • Facilitate Reunification: When appropriate, work towards reuniting children with their families, providing the necessary support for a safe transition.

  • Maintain Records: Keep detailed and accurate records of all cases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • Registration: Registered on SWE (Social Work England)

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in child welfare or a related field.

  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with child welfare laws and regulations. Proficiency in case management software.

  • Attributes: Compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to making a positive impact on children lives.


Preferred Attributes

  • Crisis Intervention: Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.

  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
