Housing Support Worker
Location: Buxton
Pay: £11.44-£12.31
Contract: Temporary

Nature Of Temporary Work
Brook Street Social Care will, at all times during your employment, use reasonable endeavours to allocate you to suitable assignments. Your hours of work may vary from one assignment to another, and you will be advised of the expected hours for each assignment. There may also be occasions when no work is available.

Overview Of The Role
You will be working both within a hostel setting, but also depending on the assignment, out in the community. You will support those at risk of homelessness, those suffering with their mental health, those struggling with substance misuse, or even ex-offenders. You will be responsible for ensuring their safety, as well as your own and the staff around you. Whether they need emotional support, help applying for housing benefits, or just someone to talk to, you will be there to support.

Required Experience
As this is a temporary role, and usually providing last-minute cover, you will be expected to hit the ground running. Previous experience working with vulnerable people within a similar setting will be essential.

YOUR Journey With Brook Street Social Care
1st Stage - Shortlisting & Pre-Screening

In this stage I will personally review your CV, and then invite you for a telephone conversation, where will discuss your right to work, work history, suitability for the role, and any questions you may have.


2nd Stage - Compliance
In this stage, our compliance team will reach out to you to ensure the necessary checks are made, to ensure you are safe and ready to start. This will include a DBS and reference check, and proof of right to work. Your start date and employment will depend on those listed.


3rd Stage - Formal Interview
In some cases, hiring managers will still want to conduct a formal interview, to see if you would fit into their team, and for you to see if you would want to work in theirs.


4th Stage - Starting
Should you be successful in your interview, or able to start one without an interview, you will be your assignment details, including location, date, time, pay, and duties & responsibilities. The following day, your consultant will reach out to you to discuss how your first shift went, and if you would like to continue.
