Brief Role Outline:

The purpose of the role is to act as the spokesperson for our customers who use our Social Care and Education to ensure we understand and communicate the key problems our customers face and why these problems need to be solved.

The role is externally market facing and will require you to work with a wide range of stakeholders including Sales, Engineering, Services, Finance, MDs, and customers to translate customer needs into business requirements.

The Product Manager will have a strong commercial and market focus to ensure we are adopting a benefit focused approach and delivering value to our customers.

Ability to work away from home and willingness to travel will be required at times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create Product Roadmap and Release Plans for the appropriate Product and Market sectors, which are aligned to the company strategy and vision.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from conception through to End of Life, using a data driven approach to inform decision making (e.g., analysing market, customer problems, competitive landscape).
  • Work closely with Engineering to establish a delivery plan, prioritising developments as required.
  • Create, own, and contribute to Product Business Cases to support investment activities.
  • Balance the needs of the Release Plan / Roadmap between growth, support, technical debt, and legislative requirements, to ensure products are competitive.
  • Unblock internal and external issues so that Product deliveries remain on track.
  • Keep abreast of market and competitive changes via Market research and Win/Loss analysis.
  • Manage Product Owners and BAs to ensure requirements are clearly documented in an accurate, timely and cost-effective manner, and support their delivery and launch through the development process - Own the requirement accuracy, quality, and outcomes.
  • Generate content to support the Go To Marketing activities of your Product including roadmaps, release plan, value propositions, briefing documents, ROI calculators, video collateral and general training material.
  • Represent your products in user groups, focus groups, sales events, and industry events.
  • Work with other Product Managers to understand the overall Portfolio offering to facilitate the overall product strategy, integration, and cross sell.

Skills required:

  • Outward facing looking at the market and interacting regularly with customers to create the Product Roadmap and Release Plan.
  • Ownership and responsibility for a Product - Play a vital role in setting the strategic direction.
  • Commercial accountability with a strong understanding of commercial drivers.
  • Work with key stakeholders to define the go to market strategy, Product positioning, target audiences and key benefits.
  • Accredited to the agreed level for the role.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral - the ability to make the complex simple.
  • Some level of experience managing a team/people.
  • Experience of managing lifecycle management tools is desirable (e.g. Jira / Aha).
  • Superb interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and balance workloads, managing expectations, taking initiative, and leading from the front.
  • Clear understanding of software Product & Development best practices and methodologies (e.g. Pragmatic Marketing / Product Focus / Tarigo / SAFE / Waterfall / SCRUM etc).

  • Prod ARR Bookings.
  • Product Revenue.
  • Reducing Product Costs.
  • Product EBITDA.

  • Overall Financial Performance of System C.
  • Customer NPS.
  • Employee NPS.
