The Research and Innovation team within IT Services supports researchers and research groups from all the departments, faculties and flagship institutes that make up the University. The requirement to use health and social care data in research is expanding rapidly across all research disciplines including Health, Social Sciences, Science, and Engineering, and driving methodological advances in AI and computational modelling. To support this growing need, the University has funded the Data Connect service to improve researchers�� access to health and social care data.
This full-time role will be offered as a fixed-term contract until 30 April 2025 to deliver an extension to the CURED+ research database, a database essential to the delivery of the Data Connect service. As Data Manager, you will support service users by understanding research needs, helping researchers to find and apply for data, providing support with information governance in line with data security standards.
You will work closely with the Data Specialist and report to the Research Project Manager, supported within the wider Data Connect and Research IT teams.
You will use your experience of working with large and sensitive datasets and ability to gather technical data requirements to support the diverse needs of researchers. You will be able to deal with multiple conflicting priorities and demonstrate a problem-solving attitude.
