Personal Assistant to Musician/Artist (LILS/RK/OC) Preston
Rate of pay: £ 11.44 per hour. Flexible part time work, up to 10 hours per week.
We are looking to employ weekly assistant/s to work flexible days/hours to be agreed, but will include some evening and weekends:
Ideally starting at £11.44 ph for an initial 3-month period.
The person requiring assistance is a disabled musician and artist living in Preston. He has autism and limited mobility. He works freelance as a musician and as an accessible music practitioner, linking with other arts organisations in the North West. The work would include supporting him in working on his practice at home, but also travelling to different venues for gigs, when he works with community arts organisations, or working with schools as an accessible music practitioner. Work would also include support with independence, accessing the community, and practical and administrative support, for example:
• Driving to jobs, carrying equipment, supporting him to prepare food. Some light shopping and housework when required.
• Administrative & creative support: proofreading, note taking, typing up notes, invoicing, making phone calls, music rehearsal support, videoing rehearsals/ performances, setting up/taking down equipment.
• Helping him manage his routine, supporting him to access the community, support with music technology.
Applicants may be social care workers or trainees, or freelancers who work in the arts, and who would benefit from a regular weekly income. Training in supporting this person would be given. We can offer the role on a PAYE or freelance basis. This role will involve some evening and weekend work.
NB - driving his car is an essential part of the role so you must hold a clean driving licence.
NB - a current DBS certificate is essential for this work. If you do not have one, then we can help you apply for one. Any job offer is contingent upon being eligible for a DBS certificate.
