Do you want to take part in meaningful work which provides emotional fulfilment, personal growth, and community engagement?
A young individual requires support with enhancing their life for 24 hours per week in Loughborough

Either directly employed or self-employed personal assistant

Preferred days/times:
Monday - Friday AM 2 hours and PM 2 hours
Saturday – Sunday 1 hour each call either AM or PM to be decided between the PA and person
The client also wants to use hours flexibly for support with accessing the community

Tasks/duties:
Personal care - toileting, washing, dressing. The client requires support with transfers to and from his wheelchair, in and out of bed, and in and out of the shower and toilet.
Domestic tasks - assisting in tidying, and preparing food
Community activities - some flexibility may be required to complete specific activities in the community

The PA will be required to have a full, clean, driving licence and will have access to the client’s mobility vehicle.

Communication:
The client wants a PA who can be sociable and friendly towards him, who he can build a trusting working relationship with. Communication skills are important to them.

Pets:
There is one cat in the property

Client main diagnosis:
Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 3 - fully wheelchair dependent.

Moving and handling:
The client requires support with transfers to and from the wheelchair, in and out of bed, and with the shower and toilet.

Client enjoys:
The client loves fashion, their hair, hip-hop and rap music, enjoys going to the pub and they play games online with friends.
The client has an excellent sense of humour and enjoys having jokes with others. They enjoy going out for food, and say steak is their favourite.
The client has just started a Business Course at University.

The client is clear that he wants to be as independent as possible and does not like to be treated as though he is not able.

This opportunity is suited for someone who is respectful, reliable, proactive and positive with a sense of humour and good communication skills
